Arriving at Ronald Reagan National Airport (10-15 minute cab ride):

You may catch a cab at the taxi stand or take MetroRail. A cab will run about $10. MetroRail is cheaper and takes only a few minutes longer.

Depending on which airline you are arriving on, follow signs or ask directions to MetroRail. Once at MetroRail, purchase farecard -- fares are shown below. You are travelling to the King Street station. Put farecard through the turnstile--remember to grab it back!

Take left-hand escalator to train platform. You want a Yellow line train that says "Huntington" or a Blue line train that says "Springfield" (usually the outside track on the left). Either train will get you there. Take the train to the King Street station, which is the 2nd stop. You will need to put your farecard through the turnstile again. If you paid exact fare it will NOT be returned--just pass through.

>> Exit the King Street station and follow the crosswalk across the parking lot and across the street. Turn left and walk down the street. You will pass Joe Thiesmann's Restaurant and then see Riggs Bank on the corner. Cross (straight ahead) at the light (towards Regent University on the corner). This is Daingerfield Road. Turn right and walk down Daingerfield Road one block to Prince Street. Turn left and walk one block. IDEAlliance headquarters will be on your left - 1421 Prince St., Suite 230.

Arriving at Washington Union Station (30-45 minute cab ride or 45 minute MetroRail ride):

You may catch a cab at the taxi stand or take MetroRail. A cab will run about $18. MetroRail will run about $3 or $4. If travelling during evening rush hour (3-7 PM), MetroRail is recommended.

For MetroRail, follow the signs or ask directions to the station. Once at MetroRail, purchase farecard -- fares will be displayed on kiosks in the farecard machine area, or ask the attendant. You are travelling to the King Street station. Put farecard through the turnstile--remember to grab it back!

Take a Red line train that says "Shady Grove." Get off at Gallery Place/Chinatown, which is the 2nd stop. Follow the signs to the Yellow line train platform. Take a Yellow line train that says "Huntington" to the King Street station, which is the 8th stop. Follow walking instructions above starting at >>.

Arriving at Washington Dulles Airport (at least a 45-minute drive):

If arriving at Washington Dulles you will need to take a cab or airport shuttle or rent a car. If renting a car you will need to get directions from the rental agency, as routes differ according to time of day.
