However, by attending a conference sponsored or co-sponsored by IDEAlliance, the attendee consents to IDEAlliance disclosing to other sponsors the names, addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses of persons who attended the conference.

Collected Information

IDEAlliance collects and maintains names, contact information and information that assists us in identifying your interests as they relate to our services (i.e. expressions of interest in specific subject areas, attendance at one of our events, your job title). Credit Card or any other payment information is collected for use with that single transaction only and is not retained after that.

IDEAlliance collects this information through event registrations, publication sales, membership applications and other active forms both online and offline. IDEAlliance does not track your specific activities on our web site, nor does IDEAlliance track your activity on any other web site. IDEAlliance uses cookies on our web site only to support our online shopping cart and to provide security for members-only content.

General Guidelines

IDEAlliance will use collected information to contact you about events, publications, updates and other IDEAlliance services in which you may be interested. We may use any number of different media for this contact, including, but not limited to, e-mail, fax and regular mail.

IDEAlliance will notify you prior to or at the time of collection of any information that will be used in a manner unrelated to the purpose for which the information is being collected. The notification will provide information about unrelated uses of that information; the choices available to an individual regarding unrelated uses of the collected information including the consequences, if any, of an individual's refusal to provide the information

Choice

If collected information will be used in a manner unrelated to the purpose for which the information was collected (including third party distribution), individuals will be informed of the unrelated uses at the time of collection and informed of the consequences, if any, of not providing the requested information.

Where unrelated uses are optional, users will be asked if they want their information used in this manner with an opt-in. Consent for unforeseen, unrelated use or third party distribution will be obtained through technological tools or opt-in before engaging in this use. Users may change their mind at any time and opt-out of any uses that they had previously opted-in.

Onward Transfer

In no event will individually identifiable information from our database be given to any third party that is not a participant in good standing with a recognized privacy program or has provided IDEAlliance with personal and independent assurances in writing that they will provide privacy protection compatible with our own privacy policy.

Name and contact information will not be sold to anyone other then a IDEAlliance member organization that is a participant in good standing with a recognized privacy program, or has provided IDEAlliance with personal and independent assurances in writing that they will provide privacy protection compatible with our own privacy policy. Information sold in this way will be available to that organization for one-time use only per purchase.

An e-mail list of attendees for a specific event, striped of any other individually identifiable information, may be provided to exhibitors for that particular event if the vendor is a participant in good standing with a recognized privacy program, or has provided IDEAlliance with personal and independent assurances in writing that they will provide privacy protection compatible with our own privacy policy. Information provided in this way will be available to that organization for one-time use and only in conjunction with their booth at the relevant event.
