/ NEW Directions for ADIS: Address Data Interchange Specification
The IDEAlliance
Address Data Interchange Specification (ADIS) offers a single
XML-based format for postal addresses domestically and worldwide,
with built-in Mail.dat compatibility for mail production, and
support for USPS product redesign proposals. The Universal Postal
Union (UPU) has passed two resolutions calling for addressing
standards, with IDEAlliance involved from the outset. In this
tutorial, the ADIS Project Chair reports on all forms of address
element technology, covers proposed extensions to ADIS 01-1, and
demonstrates a prototype.

/ Launch of Mail.dat 02: New Benefits & Opportunities
The Mail.dat
Tutorial offers important insights about the new Mail.dat 02-1
specification. The Chief Editor says there are many changes, in
almost every record, and most of the changes are new opportunities
to communicate data to become beneficial information. Also discussed
will be the new Mail.dat website, the ready availability of conformance
evaluation, test file exchanges, and the recently published User's
Guide. If you are a current end-user of Mail.dat 00-1, then this
session will be key to your efficient and easy transition to Mail.dat
02-1.
