G7 PC and PSA Certification

What is the relationship between G7 PC and RIT's PSA Certification?

PSAsm is a rigorous, objective process for assessing a printer’s ability to operate a standards compliant workflow.  By attaining PSAsmCertification, printers can objectively demonstrate that they have mastered the use of standards in the workflows they operate.

PSAsmCertification offers printers the choice of certifying their workflows to a G7âbased standard or to ISO 12647-2.  In either case, prepress and proofing workflows will be certified to the relevant ISO standards (15930 for data reception and 12647-7 for proofing).

The G7® PC program is serving as an additional tool that prepares the (creative, premedia & print) workflow for ISO Certification by an independent audior.  IDEAlliance has partnered with the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to build their Printing Standards Audit (PSAsm) Certification Program for just this purpose.  Look for the PSA program from RIT to launch in June 2011.
