History of P3
P3 means partnership—a partnership between buyers and vendors, between the Association of Publication Production Managers (APPM), Women In Production (WIP), and now IDEAlliance —all joining resources, experience and expertise for the benefit of every graphic arts, print production and digital media professional.
Early in 2003, after months of discussions and strategizing, an Ad Hoc Committee was formed, made up of key people from APPM and WIP an association bearing the name Partnership in Print Production (“P3”) was born from the best of both organizations. Within a short time, a scholarship foundation was created in order to encourage vitality and growth in our industry by supporting the studies of full-time students and assisting members in their efforts to remain current with emerging technologies.
Effective July 1, 2009, P3 merged with IDEAlliance. This move was taken to help P3 better serve its membership and to fulfill its mission of facilitating education and career growth through a network of peers sharing information. P3 now functions as a Network under the IDEAlliance association umbrella.
