What Does Passing the XMP Acid Test Mean?

Passing  the XMP Acid Test means that the products you are using correctly process digital assets in regard to the specific XMP functions embodied in the test.  If you own a product that does not pass the test, it means that you cannot rely on that product within an informed workflow scenario.  You should make your product vendor aware of the short coming so it can be corrected.  If you develop a product that is not XMP compliant you can move toward a remedy.

Can my product become certified XMP compliant?

IDEAlliance intends to add a wide variety of test file types to the XMP Acid Test.  We will also be gathering industry metrics.  Our end goal is to launch an industry certification program for XMP compliance.  The IDEAlliance XMPinterop Working Group will oversee this activity.
