Global Signs First Phase Contract with
Canadian Federal Government
Vancouver,
BC, November 7th, 2001 - XML Global
Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: XMLG), an
XML middleware company, has signed an
agreement with the Canadian federal
government to provide software and related
consulting services.
This
first phase contract, of an extendable
program, is worth up to $100,000. The
agreement calls for XML Global's GoXML(tm)
Transform Central to be the foundation
for a Canadian federal government implementation
of ebXML interoperability within a Microsoft
BizTalk(tm) environment. The Canadian
Government's E-Forms Domain Architecture
Team (EDAT) is extending the capabilities
of its Microsoft based supply-chain
project that currently supports several
XML-based transaction flows. "This is
an important contract for XML Global.
The key to continued growth of global
e-business will be complete system interoperability
for which ebXML has delivered a blueprint,"
said Peter Shandro, CEO of XML Global.
"By implementing an ebXML capable registry
and message handling services within
a Microsoft BizTalk(tm) environment",
continued Shandro, "XML Global is taking
the lead in laying the foundations for
multiple system interoperability."
GoXML(tm)
Transform Central is an ebXML enabled
e-business solution. This solution permits
an enterprise to pass data between traditional
data formats such as EDI and relational
databases and new formats like XML.
This then allows e-businesses to create
new partnerships with formerly incompatible
trading partners. Most importantly,
however, GoXML(tm) Transform Central
will eliminate one of the last major
performance bottlenecks in information
exchange with an infrastructure to rapidly
and cost-effectively establish interoperable
Web-based trading partner relationships.
Under
the terms of the contract, XML Global
will also provide the technical and
product support needed to demonstrate
the required interoperability. The system
will be installed in both Vancouver
and Ottawa. By successfully implementing
an ebXML registry within the BizTalk(tm)
server environment, XML Global and EDAT
aim to open up the proprietary BizTalk(tm)
platform to interchanges based on the
new ebXML standards.
