Antenna House, Inc. will release Antenna House XSL Formatter V2.0 in mid January 2002

Orlando, Fl - December 10, 2001 - Antenna House, Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Tokushige Kobayashi; Capital: JPY40 million) will release Antenna House XSL Formatter V2.0 in the mid of January 2002.

XSL Formatter V2.0 is an XSL formatting engine that is based on XSL (Extensible Stylesheet Language) Version 1.0, a recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) which defines the global standard for XML. XSL Formatter V2.0 can professionally format and print XML documents and XML-formatted business forms by specifying stylesheet.

The method of transforming from XML to HTML and using a Web browser to display or print XML documents is getting popular. This method works well when displaying documents on screen but cannot be used for specialized printing specifications such as creating the table of contents, keyword index, line stacking controls, keeps and breaks, headers, footers, or columns, and the specification of print positions for objects.

From 1998, the W3C spent over three years developing the XSL as a specialized printing specification for assigning and formatting the layout of XML. XSL became a W3C Recommendation on October 15, 2001.

XSL Formatter V2.0 is a formatting engine based on XSL V1.0, a W3C recommendation. To this date, this is the only product of its kind that can operate in the Japanese language. There are a few of XSL products around the world but even among these XSL Formatter V2.0 is one of the top performers and is easy to use.

Another feature of XSL Formatter V2.0 is its ease of integration into a system that employs XML as a data format. For example, if an electronic government form data is made in XML it must be printed on paper with its format specified. Conventional form-only systems perform formatting by creating a unique form each time, but with XSL layout can be freely specified by creating a global standard stylesheet. As a result, an open system can be developed in a short period of time and, more over, at a low cost.

Our Experience

Antenna House started to provide the Japanese version of XSL Formatter V1.0 in December 2000 and began sales of the English version of XSL Formatter V1.1 in April 2001. In the past year, Antenna House has garnered experience at home and abroad in XSL technology and its market, including actively contributing in the development and compatibility tests of the XSL specification by the W3C, as well as the establishment of XSLSchool in June 2001, the first step in a campaign to spread and promote understanding of XSL.

Our Plan

Although XSL is currently not a popular name, this specification is considered to be a key to more extensive Web use. Great demand is therefore expected for the XSL Formatter in Japan and other countries. To this end, Antenna House will be launching an active sales campaign along with the introduction of XSL Formatter V2.0, and carve out a new market.

As the first stage of the sales campaign in Japan, Antenna House will open the Third XSLSchool on February 1, 2002 (Venue: Non-Life Insurance Building, Tokyo; capacity: 100 people) and exhibit at Page2002 to be held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from February 6 to 8.

Antenna House has established a sales office in Vancouver, Canada in September 2001 to promote overseas sales. As the first stage of the sales campaign overseas, Antenna House will exhibit its products at XML2001, the world's largest XML conference and exhibition opening in Orlando, Florida from December 11 to 13, 2001, where it will offer its own XSL+XML Seminar.

In the next two years, Antenna House will focus all its resources on sales and development activities; its goal is to establish Antenna House as the world's undisputed leader in the XSL sector in two years.
