GRACoL Committee Prepares Data Sets
After completing research press runs earlier this month,
the GRACoL Committee begins to prepare datasets upon
which GRACoL 7 will be based. Datasets reviewed by GRACoL
leadership will be available to key players within the
European Color Initiative as part of the Printing Across
Borders (PAB) Initiative. The first public presentation
of the new GRACoL characterization data sets will be
available at the PAB meeting in Chicago on September
11th and also on the GRACoL Website at www.gracol.org.
DISC Activities Move Forward
The DISC
(Digital Image Submission Criteria) working group has
posted the Draft DISC Metadata Specification 2.0 and
will resolve comments by mid-September. The working
group will lay the groundwork to certify DISC tools
which will assist photographers with image submissions
according to magazine specifications. A major work item
will be the development of a Best Practices
for digital photographers. Look for new work to be posted
by DISC in late September.
Digital Asset Management Metadata Summit - October
10, 2005
Digital Asset Management Vendors are invited to meet
with New York publishers and agencies to learn more
about their strategies for digital asset management.
This summit is designed to provide a forum so that publishers
who have invested years in the development of the IDEAlliance
metadata vocabularies can discuss how employing standard
metadata can shorten implementation cycles, speed adoption
and lower the cost of entry for digital asset management
solutions. Note the date change from October 5 to October
10th. Signup at DAM
Summit.
