IDEAlliance Announces Conference Program for XTech 2006 Program focuses on XML, standards-based and open technology for enabling next generation of web applications ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, USA – March 14, 2006 – IDEAlliance (www.idealliance.org), an established industry organization that develops, educates and validates best practices in publishing and information technology, announced today the full conference program for XTech 2006 (www.xtech-conference.org/), the premier European conference for developers and managers working with XML and web technologies. The theme for this year’s conference, “Building Web 2.0” recognizes the key role of standards-based and open technology in enabling the next generation of web applications. XTech 2006 will be held May 16-19 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Building on the success of last year’s conference, this year’s tracks include applications, browser technology, core technologies and open data. Experts and leaders from all disciplines will present and discuss the technology and design issues behind the evolving world of the web. The applications track covers the use of web, XML and knowledge technologies, and includes presentations on DITA, Rails, RDF and OWL, Semantic Web, and syndication and aggregation. Browser technology presentations focus on AJAX, XForms, SVG, and mobile web applications. The core technologies track includes presentations on XQuery, SPARQL and MySQL. Presentations in the open data track focus on OpenStreetMap, GeoRSS and network security.
