A wide range of IT systems have been developed during the last decades within the fifty-two police forces in the United Kingdom, serving a wide range of users from police officers on duty to the criminal justice community. Modernising and integrating these systems with service oriented XML/Web Services based enterprise architecture formulates part of the national Information System Strategy for the Police Service.
