Using XForms to Build New Generation Internet Applications

Abstract

XForms is a new standard from the W3C which builds on the power of XPath and XML Schemas to create an extensible, standard way of building internet applications.

But while many people can see the benefits in general, of using XForms, it is not always clear to developers and project managers how the advantages of XForms could be applied to their own specific projects.

Given the range of systems in which XForms could play a role it will be important for potential adopters to see illustrations, and this session aims to do just that. The tutorial will take attendees step-by-step through the process of building a standards-based distributed application by combining various back-end technologies with XForms - and so show developers how XForms could work for them.
