Processing XHTML, Benefits and Techniques

Abstract

Presented are both the reasons and strategies for manipulating XHTML and building applications around XHTML. Examples on how content providers will be able to manipulate style, content and interject new content into XHTML documents are presented. Well-formed or not, documents as XHTML allow developers to communicate more effectively with content providers as well as user interface designers. Wireless devices lack the processing power and forgiveness of full-featured browsers, this session will also cover using XHTML to deliver content to wireless devises. A full list of options for processing including software, applications, and platforms to process content will be presented to help attendees get started right away.

Biography

Zach Hollandsworth is founder and chief technology officer for Giantis Software based in Fort Worth, Texas specializing in Web-based software based on open source technologies. Prior to founding Giantis, Zach served as CTO for Quarem Software. Delivering applications through conception to product stage using pure Java Servlet and open-source technologies. He is an industry pioneer in the areas of web-based applications, Java Servlets and XML technologies. Zach is the founder and project lead of HDOM (Java API of XHTML processing) API allowing the processing of XHTML with Java(TM). Programming for ten years, Zach has been working with Smalltalk and Java since its inception. He has also spoke at international conferences over technologies such as XML and Java.
