Abstract
As industry moves forward, more companies and vendors are creating Web Services. XML provides a common architecture for Web Services to communicate. The XML application is the missing link to connect these Web Services into applications. Robert Schmitter will discuss how XML can be used to create portable Rich Client Applications. XML has long been noted for its strengths in the area of communication and integration at the data level. Robert will show that the same benefits, and more, can be applied to the application level including not just data, but also the business logic and presentation. Imagine a client server application streamed to a browser over a thin pipe and updated as easily as an html Web site. Robert will demonstrate a real working schema for describing business applications and will show examples of tools that can be used to assemble them. Robert will use real world examples to show how customers are taking advantage of XML applications for Financial Relationship Management in the areas of claims processing, commissions and more.
