ebXML Architectures - Case Studies from Sun

Abstract

This presentation is targeted for developers and users of ebXML with the goal of explaining the benefits of applying ebXML technologies to build extended Web services infrastructures. The presentation will address the architectures for integrating collaborative business partners across the Internet in an efficient, reliable, and secure manner.

This will be accomplished by reviewing case studies from full ebXML implementations including detailed reviews of projects at Sabre and General Motors. Among these case studies, each module of the ebXML framework will be reviewed including the ebMS messaging, CPP/A trading partner agreements, RegRep repository, and BPSS business process collaborations.

In addition to the discussions on how to architect the ebXML modules to build a collaborative infrastructure, this presentation will also discuss how to integrate the ebXML architecture into an existing corporate infrastructure and discuss the realities of interoperability. Through the case study examples, integration with enterprise J2EE architectures and basic web services architectures using ebXML will be described. In addition to architectural integration, the value of ebXML's messaging interoperability will be discussed.

The overall message will be to highlight the facts around ebXML implementations, describe how to architect these solutions, how to integrate them into existing infrastructures, but most importantly show how the technology can and is being used today to enable reliable, secure, collaborative B2B Web services solutions.
