Abstract

This session showcases ebxmlrr, a leading royalty-free open source implementation of the OASIS ebXML Registry Standard based upon the Java platform.

The organization of the session is as follows:

-A brief high level introduction to ebXML Registry standard

-Review of key features of ebxmlrr (including support for ebXML Registry V3 features)

-Architecture of the ebxmlrr open source implementation

-Review of key technologies used by the implementation

-Implementation challenges

-ebxmlrr user community and how they are using ebXML Registry

-Next steps and future directions

The session will provide hands on information for anyone who is considering using an ebXML Registry for a specific solution.

Biography

Farrukh Najmi is a Staff Engineer in the J2EE team at Sun. His focus in recent years has been web services, eBusiness and XML Registries. He is an active contributor to the ebXML eBusiness standards activity, where he is a primary author of the ebXMLRegistry specifications. Currently he is the specification lead for Java API for XMLRegistries (JAXR). Previously, he helped develop Sun's Java Messaging Service Reference Implementation. Prior to joining Sun, Farrukh was at Hewlett Packard where he led the development of a large scale enterprise Java application in the field of Medical InformationSystems. He started his career at HP Labs where he worked on the first single chip HPPA RISC processor from HP.
