Binary Infosets is the generic term covering an array of different binary formats that encode serializations of XML infosets, most of which are tailored to answer the needs of constrained or high-performance environments, such as are found in the mobile, embedded, broadcast, or web services industries.

This talk will start off by describing the situations in which binary infosets become sufficiently advantageous to be worth investigating, contrasted with cases in which they are not. Using that to list typical requirements for binary infoset formats, the session will carry on into a technical discussion of several binary infoset formats, how they work and how they compare.
