Abstract
The platform for mission-critical business-to-business transactions is steadily moving from proprietary networks to the Internet. In 2004 and beyond, six major factors will combine to exponentially accelerate this trend, including:
-Marketplace momentum
-Lower costs
-Business advantages of near real-time information
-Internationalization
-Technology Maturity
-International interoperability efforts
As organizations change their infrastructure to support the Internet, they must decide which Messaging Service standards to support. AS2 (EDI over the Internet) and ebXML Messaging are two of the most recognized Internet Messaging Service standards.
In this session, DGI will:
-Make recommendations on which standards to implement based on
technology and business criteria.
-Show how business needs map to technical requirements for
Messaging Services.
-De-bunk and explain the technology underlying AS2 and ebMS.
-Compare AS2 and ebMS to each other and, where applicable, compare
them to SOAP and the evolving Web Services standards.
-Walk through an in-depth technical comparison of AS2, ebMS and
SOAP.
