Dr. Carlos A. Velasco has a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering (Polytechnic University of Madrid, 1990) and a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 1999). He is currently a senior researcher in the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT), and leads the BIKA Competence Center. Since 1990, Dr. Velasco has held several positions in Research Centers and private companies in the United States, The Netherlands and Spain. Before joining FIT, he was an independent consultant in the field of software development and Web technologies. He manages several national and international R&D projects.
