As a Senior Researcher at the e-commerce research group in CARIS Adomas Svirskas is responsible for tying together business and technical aspects of modern e-business to find innovative solutions to a number of challenging research and commercial problems. His research interests have focused on the use of modern software architectures and middleware solutions to satisfy growing demands of modern businesses. Adomas' 15 years IT experience in both academia (Lithuania, USA, UK) and the leading software companies in Europe and the USA (Trilogy, SAP, Kiala) cover a range of projects in the automotive, banking, telecom, logistics and Internet business sectors. The major EU funded research project he is currently involved in, LAURA, investigates the application of ebXML to support adaptive zones for Inter-regional Electronic Commerce based on the concept of Request Based Virtual Organizations (RBVOs) and sector specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Adomas received his MSc in Computer Science from Vilnius University in Lithuania and is currently working towards his PhD related to his recent research.
