XQuery/XPath Townhall

Abstract

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) XML Query Working Group [1] was chartered in September 1999 to develop a query language for XML documents. The goal of the XML Query Working Group is to produce a formal data model for XML documents with Namespaces based on the XML Infoset and XML Schemas, an algebra of query operators on that data model, and then a query language with a concrete canonical syntax based on the proposed operators. The XML Query Town Hall meeting will provide an opportunity for XML 2002 participants to ask questions of members of the W3C XML Query WG about the status of the Working Group's efforts to create a query language for XML documents.
