Linda Burman

Linda Burman is President and CEO of L. A. Burman Associates Inc., a consulting company providing services including business development, industry analysis, formation and management of standards initiatives and due diligence for potential investors. Ms. Burman is Founder and Chair of the PRISM (Publishing Requirements for Industry Standard Metadata) Working Group, co-author of Mastering XML (Sybex 1999 & 2001) and Consultant to LingoMotors, the developer of TurboCat, a semi-automatic classification engine.With the exception of a tour of duty in the dot.com world as Vice President of Standards and Evangelism at Kinecta Inc, (now Stellent) she has been developing her consulting business since 1995. Previously, she was the Director of Marketing at SoftQuad Inc., and directly prior to that, she was the Publishing Evangelist at Apple Computer in Cupertino. She has also held business and technical positions in the data communications and publishing industries. And in a previous lifetime, she taught High School Theater and Literature.Ms Burman also sits on the advisory councils of Foundry Ventures and of the Baycrest Hospital for Geriatric Care.
