David J. Steinhardt is the President and CEO of IDEAlliance, formerly known as Graphic Communications Association (GCA). He became the first president of IDEAlliance (International Digital Enterprise Alliance) following its separation from Printing Industries of America in July 2001. With its refocused mission and 35-year history of innovation, IDEAlliance has positioned itself at the forefront of the revolutionary changes in publishing and content-related industries by developing and deploying user-driven, cross-industry standards in the creation, management, and delivery of digital assets. Prior to joining IDEAlliance, Steinhardt held chief executive positions with two printing industry associations serving printers and the printing distribution channel. At both PrintImage International (formerly the National Association of Quick Printers) and NAGASA (North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association), Steinhardt built change-oriented and successful associations through organizational independence and e-structuring, and program and standards expansion. Mr. Steinhardt has also served in senior positions with Printing Industries of America and PrintNation.com, and served as a Presidential Management Intern for the Carter and Reagan Administrations. He earned his MPA from The George Washington University and his BS in History and Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
