Abstract
At IBM's developerWorks site, we've been moving our XML content from a DTD base to an XML schema base. Along with the usual benefits of schemas' enhanced expressive power, we've been able to do a number of cool things using the XML schema as a starting point. Some of the things we'll demo in this session are:
* Generating SQL table definitions from an XML schema
* Generating complete HTML and PDF documentation from an XML schema
* Generating HTML forms from an XML schema
* Generating different sets of documentation and forms based on subsets of the elements and attributes of an XML schema
The techniques we're using are all standards-compliant, based on open source tools, and will be made available after the session. Best of all, we've greatly enhanced our content delivery process and freed our editorial staff to focus on more interesting and productive things.
