Creating XML Schemas Using XML Spy 5 Enterprise Edition

Abstract

XML Schema was approved as a W3C Recommendation in May, 2001 and is now being widely used for structuring XML documents for e-commerce and Web Services applications. This session will cover creating, editing, and modeling XML Schemas using XML Spy 5 Enterprise Edition. The live demonstration will include creating XML Schemas from scratch using the XML Spy 5 IDE in both Enhanced Schema view and the Schema Modeling view which presents an object oriented model for expressing your Schemas. Creating "derived" schemas from multiple XML files will be demonstrated as well as creating Schemas from existing XML DTD's. A full discussion of transforming existing Schema types (BizTalk, XML Data Reduced, etc...) to fully compliant W3C XML Schemas will also be included.
