He has been a long-time participant in standards efforts related to XML and SGML, and a speaker at numerous conferences.
OASIS (www.oasis-open.org) is an international, not-for-profit consortium that designs and develops industry standard specifications for interoperability based on XML. This session will describe the latest developments in OASIS technical work. In the past year the number of OASIS technical committees has grown four-fold, and many technical committees have progressed their work to completion and submission to OASIS membership for ratification. A number of new topics for technical work are being pursued in areas of interest to a large number of XML 2001 conference participants including Topic Maps and Web Services. This presentation will cover the status of current OASIS technical work, with an emphasis on what has happened in recent weeks and months, and discuss what the XML industry should expect to see from OASIS in the near future.
This presenter's paper was not received in time to be included in the proceedings.
