XML Schema imposes rigid constraints on the logical structure as well as the data and its format of XML documents. This can be especially useful in exchanges across systems and platforms. In this presentation, we will show how to validate database content against XML Schemas and reformat the data to conform to the given XML schema by applying user pre-defined rules during the validation process. This presentation will walk through XML schema extraction from SQL Query, show how Java classes can be created from this schema and then used in a website to insert content back into the database. The presentation will show a live XML FAQ website that uses these techniques along with XML-based storage/retrieval techniques, and XSL transformations on data presentation.
This presenter's paper was not received in time to be included in the proceedings.
