The set of HTML interconnected documents is a rendition of a topic map. The topic map provided here conforms to the XTM 1.0 format. Details about the XTM specification can be found at http://www.topicmaps.org. Supplementary information on current developments on Topic Maps can be found at: http://www.topicmaps.net, an informative web site maintained by Steven R. Newcomb and Michel Biezunski.
A topic map document instance is provided here which contains the interchangeable version of the rendered HTML version built with Michel Biezunski's Topic Map Loom. Topic Map Loom is a toolkit that is used as part of the service provided by Michel Biezunski for the creation of commercial topic map prototype applications. The XML topic map instance, as well as the resources containing the occurrences of the topics, can be processed using any software which is compatible with the XTM topic map specification. For more information, send mail to Michel Biezunski: mb@infoloom.com
The topic map instance is provided on this Cd-Rom at INTERCH/orlando2001.xtm.
The set of documents serving as occurrences of topics in this topic map is included on the CD. They are almost identical to the source documents provided by the authors (and edited), except for the fact that unique identifier attributes have been added to many elements to facilitate addressing of topics. They can be found in the /TM/WEB/INTERCH directory in this CD.
There is a general interest mailing list on topic maps. To get information, and subscribe to this mailing list, go to http://www.infoloom.com/mailman/listinfo/topicmapmail.
There are two other mailing lists on topic maps, one devoted to the work performed by the ISO/IEC SC34 Working Group (http://www.isotopicmaps.org/mailman/listinfo/sc34wg3) and one focusing on the group performed by the OASIS Technical Group on Published subjects: http://lists.oasis-open.org/ob/adm.pl)
The ISO/IEC 13250 (Topic Maps) international standard is available from ISO and is provided on the Web by SC34 chairman: www.y12.doe.gov/sgml/sc34/document/0129.pdf
