35th Annual Print Media Executive Conference
PRIMEX 2007 Summit
February 5-7
Marriott Marco Island Resort, Marco Island, Florida

CONFERENCE CHAIR
Tom Fox
Vice President of Manufacturing & Technology
American Express Publishing/Time Inc.

Tired of too much me and want to hear more about we? Rather go to a conference with less time staring at PowerPoint presentations and more time interacting in meaningful discussions? Like to leave a conference with ideas for your business instead of just a gift bag? THEN PRIMEX 2007 IS FOR YOU.

The PRIMEX 2007 program has been completely re-thought to try and meet those objectives. While we’ll certainly have experts who can give us an outsider’s analytical view of our businesses and industry experts to lead off key topics of interest, we also realize that it’s the attendees of this Summit that make it special—and where so much of our industry’s brainpower and potential lie.

This year in Marco Island, Florida, we’re planning a real “roll up the sleeves” agenda and we’ll feature opportunities to more thoroughly discuss, debate and detail not only challenges we face but the real steps of progress so many attendees have made toward meeting those challenges. We’ve even modernized our relaxation time with an exciting Las Vegas style poker tournament for players of all levels at our opening dinner together.

With concise recaps of key developments and findings from IDEAlliance conferences, highlights from analysts who cover our industries, and projections from experts on trends in supporting technologies, you’ll take home plenty of new information. In addition, we’ll help foster the peer discussions with planned sessions where members will share “What I did about” in several key disciplines.

PRIMEX 2007 promises to have the kind of focus where you’ll want to leave your Blackberry turned off and keep your attention tuned in because you are a vital part of the agenda. I’m greatly looking forward to an exciting and engaging three days in Florida.

INNOVATING New Markets, New Products & New Ways of Doing Business
Dr. Peter S. Temes, Founder and President, I L O Institute

What is the future of magazines? Dr. Temes’ research indicates a number of the dynamics of innovation that cut across all industries, including the imperative to lower the cost of failure in continuous experimentation, and the greater value of process innovation over product innovation – all true for the magazine industry. ENVIRONMENTALISM AS A PROFITABILITY STRATEGY
What if the supply chain were to embrace issues of sustainability and environmental stewardship not just as "good corporate citizens" but as a profitincreasing strategy? What are the opportunities to connect with the younger generations in terms of perception of ink on paper with issues they embrace rather than the cliché of "killing trees?" In an open discussion we'll put forth some possibilities and review the pros and cons.
