Adobe Document Server
software enables enterprises to dynamically create customized Adobe Portable
Document Format (PDF) files in a flexible, scalable, robust server environment.
Designed for financial institutions, manufacturers and other large
organizations, Adobe Document Server can automate the creation and assembly of
technical manuals, brochures, proposals, and policies; business reports that contain
charts and graphs dynamically generated from data in a database; and other
content-rich Adobe PDF documents.
Adobe Document Server
supports the dynamic creation of PDF documents from a variety of sources,
including PostScript, EPS, PDF forms, and XML. By flowing XML data retrieved
from an enterprise application or database into templates, Adobe Document
Server can generate customized Adobe PDF documents and automate forms-based
transactions. Adobe Document Server can also dynamically generate vector graphics
from SVG templates and raster images from Photoshop templates. Adobe Document
Server supports Extensible Stylesheet Language Formatting Objects (XSL-FO).
This emerging Web standard combines standard XML data with layout information
for multi-page documents containing text, graphics, and images.
With Adobe Document Server,
organizations can increase efficiency, reduce document production and forms
processing costs, and improve revenue potential and customer satisfaction by
providing information tailored to individuals.
Enterprises in financial
services and manufacturing industries looking for a robust, scalable server
product for dynamically generating personalized PDF documents such as
contracts, policies, proposals, reports, brochures, and manuals.
Most of it. Document Server
offers support for about 90% of the XSL-FO elements (some limitations) and
about 30% of all properties (though some of that 70% are not meaningful for PDF
generation).
