Abstract:
Three years ago, a group of business and XML experts started an OASIS technical committee to standardize electronic forms of basic business documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and shipping notices. The result of that effort, UBL 1.0, is now ready for general use. It is hoped that UBL will serve as the catalyst for the document standardization required to achieve the objectives of paperless trade.
