Abstract:

The presentation will serve as the product launch for our software, Quick.SVG 2005 - CGM to SVG Edition.

The presentation, accompanied by slides, will cover the following points:

- Briefly, the extensive use of CGM in the technical industry and the problems faced therein.

- How SVG can resolve many of these issues.

- Extensively, the features and functionality of the Quick.SVG 2005 software.

* Support for CGM 1-4, WebCGM and ATA CGM profiles.

* Support for dynamic cgm linking and zooming.

* Batch conversion and server-side on-the-fly conversion of CGM to SVG

* Simple interface with options for normalizing size and viewbox of images as well as editing dynamic properties of the resulting SVG.

* XSL based customizable filter for output of SVG.

- How Quick.SVG can improve a graphics/data workflow

* Storing and searching graphics alongside other XML data

* Reusable graphical components

* Savings in graphical software development

* Maintain historical data in graphic

- Ease of inserting Quick.SVG into a CGM workflow for:

* Displaying graphics on the web

* Displaying manuals and graphics on mobile devices

* Handling historical documents and change data

The presentation will promote our software while raising awareness of the SVG format as a plausible alternative for CGM.

The presentation will be given by the lead developer of the software, who has given successful presentations over CGM/SVG in past conferences such as SVGOpen and will be fully capable of an in depth Q/A session after presentation.
