Biography

David was born and educated in England. He graduated in Computer Science before moving to the USA in 1989. David has held a wide variety of postions, with over twenty years experience of creating software based solutions. He has worked for a number of multinational companies including DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, Disney, Guardian Industries and Hydro Aluminum. He is currently working for the MOPAR division of DaimlerChrsyler as a senior architect.


Abstract


The MOPAR Division of DaimlerChrysler (which produces parts and accessories for all DaimlerChrysler vehicles) understands the importance of delivering accurate, timely product marketing material to its dealerships. It's the difference between making additional sales or losing revenue to a competitor. Mr. Haslam will discuss the strategic importance of XML, illustrating it with an application they built to address the growing needs of the MOPAR division. Mr. Haslam will share with you the challenges they faced and how they were solved as well as provide the metrics being used to validate the project's success.
