Proofing is the most important and confusing process any graphic arts professional must understand. Types and technologies are constantly changing leaving us all dazed and confused. The BRIDG­S Committee mission is to gather, identify, explain and distribute information on today'­s proofing processes. Proofs allow designers and customers to check artwork­ color before the job is plated and running on press. Selecting the appropriate type of proof is the trick a good production person must master. The handbook is generic and does not recommend any specific manufacturer's names or process - that's up to the user to decide.
