Bio:
Jack Kliger is President and CEO of Hachette Filipacchi
Media U.S., Inc., a subsidiary of Hachette Filipacchi
Médias, the world's largest consumer magazine publisher.
Kliger is currently also serving as vice chairman
of the Magazine Publishers of America. Hachette's
21 enthusiast titles including ELLE, Car and Driver,
Road & Track, Woman's Day and America Photo reach
more than 50 million consumers. Additionally, Hachette
includes custom publishing, integrated marketing,
database and market research as well as Hachette Enterprises.
A 30-year veteran in the publishing industry, Kliger
joined Hachette in 1999. Before that, he worked in
key executive positions at Advance Publications from
1980 to 1999 including Executive Vice President of
Parade Publications, Executive Vice President of Condé
Nast Publications, as well as Publisher for both
Glamour and GQ magazines.

Abstract: Will print survive in a marketplace
where the consumer has control? Top level executives
from the publishing and media industries will discuss
the impact of the new consumer-controlled marketplace
on the print industry. They will provide insights

how to "rewrite the rules" of our industry in
order to have a successful future.

client perspectives. The end result is to encourage
the audience to embrace change and innovation.
Bio: Jonah Bloom is Executive
Editor, Advertising Age, the worlds leading
marketing and media publication. He oversees the day-to-day
editorial operations of the weekly publication, which
reaches more than 300,000 readers, as well as helping
to manage AdAge.com and Madison + Vine. He joined
Advertising Age in September 2002 from PRWeek magazine.
He helped to launch PRWeek in 1998 as news editor
and went on to become editor-in-chief. He also has
considerable experience reporting on the media industry
in Europe. His other roles have included being magazines
editor on journalists weekly Press Gazette,
a news reporter on VNUs Accountancy Age and
a reporter on weekly print and packaging journal PrintWeek.
In 2004, he edited the Harper Collins book Top
Companies in Marketing & Media. His stories have
been published in several national dailies in the
UK including The Financial Times and The Guardian.

Abstract: The Print Media Industry must enhance
the power of print message to corporate executives,
media strategists, media buyers, print buyers, and
the business and creative communities. We - as an
industry - must seek greater visibility for the concept
of print as a superior communication medium among
advertising and marketing decision makers and influencers.
The Life with Print campaign would like to
improve the knowledge of marketers to not only understand
the value of print, but act on it as well.
Bio: Daniel Dejan,
is the National Print & Creative Specialist for Sappi
Fine Paper. In this position, Mr. Dejan provides value-added
marketing, sales and technical consultation as well
as conducting internal (in-house) and external (end-user
customer) training and educational programs to the
printing and creative communities. Mr. Dejan was the
National Creative Sales Manager for Sappi prior to
the Potlatch Papers acquisition merger. He comes to
this position after 30 years as an award-winning graphic
designer, art director, creative director, print production
manager and buyer and, most notably, as the Principal/Executive
Creative Director of Dejan Associates, Inc., a marketing
and sales support organization in Chicago and as the
Senior Manager of Design and Production for Baxter
Healthcare Corporation/Healthcare Communications Group.
A dedicated graphic arts educator and author with
many years of national and international experience,
Dejan has applied his wide-ranging expertise by conducting
workshops, seminars, and delivering key-note speeches
for design, advertising and print production groups
throughout the United States for the past twenty years.
He has also been invited to judge numerous graphic
design and print competitions.
