EMBARC/X12
- GCA Standard 134-1998
EMBARC/X12
takes the data from the pioneering Electronic
Manifest and Bar Coding of Paper Stock
Shipments (EMBARC), and puts them in
the X12 American national standard for
EDI. EMBARC/X12 lets printing companies,
newspapers, magazine publishers, retailers,
direct marketers, and merchants capture
detailed data on paper rolls and skids
sent from mills to their facilitates.
These critical data include weights,
dimensions, grades, packaging (multiroll)
configurations, carriers details, and
individual roll or skid identifiers.
The publication includes examples for
shipments of single roll, multi-roll
packs, sheeted stock. It also gives
detailed mapping instructions from original
EMBARC to EMBARC/X12. GCA’s EMBARC-EDI
Committee, chaired by Bill Orndorff
or Perry Judd’s Inc. and Karen Rosenberg
of Time, Inc. developed EMBARC/X12.
