Idealliance is a not-for-profit membership organization that has been a leader in information and media technology since 1966. With a history of innovation and transformation, Idealliance has its foundation in alliances going back to 1896.

– 1966 Founded as Computer Section of Printing Industries of America (PIA)
– 1970 Name change to Graphic Communications Computer Association/Section of PIA (GCCA)
– 1981 Reorganized as Graphic Communications Association/Special Industry Group of PIA (GCA)
– 2001 Name change to International Digital Enterprise Alliance – becomes independent association
– 2003 Merge with National Magazine, Book & Film Carriers Association (NMBFC)
– 2004 Merge with Digital Ad Lab
– 2005 Merge with Specification for Web Offset Publications (SWOP), Digital Directions in Applications (DDAP) for Production (DDAP), and Partnership in Print Production (P3)
– 2010 Merge with IPA
– 2016 Merge with Epicomm

– Founded as National Association of Photo-Lithographers (NAPL) 1933
– Name change to National Association of Printers & Lithographers (NAPL) 1971
– Name change to National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) 1999
– Merge with Research & Engineering Council of the Graphic Arts Industry 2002
– Merge with National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP) 2006
– Merge with Association of Marketing Service Providers (AMSP) 2014
– Name change to Epicomm 2015

IPA

– Founded as National Association of Photo-Engravers 1896
– Photoengravers Research Association & National Association of Photo-Engravers form alliance 1941
– Photoengravers Research Association & National Association of Photo-Engravers merge to form International Prepress Association (IPA) 1971
– Merge with Graphic Preparatory Association/Section of Printing Industries of America (PIA) 1981
– Name change to IPA: Association for Graphic Solutions Providers 2008
– IPA merges with Idealliance 2010

Association of Marketing Service Providers

– 1920 Founded as Mail Advertising Service Association (MASA)
– 2001 Name change to Mailing & Fulfillment Service Association (MFSA)
