Professionals from across the print supply chain take part in flexography-based training featuring live demonstrations on cutting-edge equipment.

Alexandria, Va. (August 15, 2018) – Idealliance, a global thought leader in the graphic communications industry and a non-profit think tank with 11 strategically located offices around the world, and The Sonoco Institute for Packaging Design and Graphics at Clemson University partnered to hold G7®Training and Certification at the institute’s world-renowned facility in Clemson, S.C..

Led by Steve Smiley, G7 Expert Trainer, color expert, and active participant in multiple international color standards groups, the August 7-9 training event featured live demonstrations on the Sunoco Institute’s cutting edge equipment of implementation of the G7 methodology in production for color management, process control, and optimization for printing and proofing, showing how to utilize G7 to align all print technologies for visual consistency, process and quality control, and color workflow management.

Open to the public, the G7 training session attracted participants from across the print supply chain. Professionals from OEMs, suppliers and vendors, print production personnel, consultants, creatives, and educators attended the training hosted by the Sunoco Institute.

Upon completion of the three-day training, participants demonstrated their extensive proficiency by completing a thorough online exam deep in concepts and experience with the G7 methodology, color management, process control and implementation, international print standards, and colorimetry. These G7 Experts and G7 Professionals are now certified by Idealliance as proven leaders in print production and global standards to align all proof and print applications regardless of process, ink, or substrate.
