Registration is now open for an in-depth flexography-based  training session led by Steve Smiley, August 7-9, 2018.

Alexandria, Va. (June 12, 2018) – Idealliance, a global thought leader in the graphic communications industry and a non-profit organization with 12 strategically located offices around the world, and The Sonoco Institute for Packaging Design and Graphics at Clemson University have partnered to offer G7® Training and Certification at the institute’s world-renowned facility in Clemson, S.C., August 7-9, 2018. Registration is now open for this three-day in-depth flexography-based training session at www.idealliance.org.

Steve Smiley, G7 Expert Trainer, color expert, and active participant in multiple international color standards groups, will lead this three-day training event focusing on flexographic printing. It will feature live demonstrations of applying the G7 methodology in production for color management, process control, and optimization for printing and proofing, utilizing the G7 methodology designed to align all print technologies for visual consistency, process and quality control, and color workflow management.

The Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics at Clemson University derives its uniqueness through the synergy of packaging design and graphic communications. Focused on education, research, and industry collaboration, the Sonoco Institute and Idealliance share many overlapping goals to increase industry collaboration and development for the printing and packaging supply chain.

“Hundreds of Graphic Communications graduates and industry participants have walked through Clemson’s halls and have gone on to become G7 Experts,” says Jordan Gorski, Director of Certification Programs for Idealliance. “This is an opportunity for many more from throughout the printing and packaging industry to join the global G7 community by learning first hand on Clemson’s cutting-edge equipment, gaining real-world experience to implement G7 in their facilities and with their print supply chain partners to align printing devices and workflows to maximize operational efficiencies and raise the bar for print quality and standardization.

This G7 Training session is open to the public for participants to achieve G7 Expert and G7 Professional Certification. Participants must register online at  https://tinyurl.com/y83mqusuprior to attending. Upon the completion of the three-day training at the Sonoco Institute, participants will leave with extensive practical hands-on experience in G7 implementation and print management. G7 Experts and Professionals must complete an online examination to verify their aptitude in G7, color management, and process control to help print service providers as well as brands, creatives, and other print supply chain partners achieve G7 Master Qualification.

G7 Experts and G7 Professionals are certified by Idealliance as proven leaders in print production and global standards to align all proof and print applications regardless of process, ink, or substrate.
